When my husband was first involved with the NDIS, we had a support coordinator that we never saw face to face, and in the space of 2 years we had 5 changes of coordinators.
Our original support coordination team did the job to start with, got us set up with our plan that was more than adequate and specific for our set of circumstances but that is as far as things went. However, when the time came for a new plan review, they suggested we find someone new, someone closer to home, someone who was respected within the NDIA and especially someone who knew what they were doing. Not knowing who to turn to, I went back to our initial local area coordinator. She immediately recommended Sussanne at Total Care Team.
Before our plan review had even been undertaken and role of Support Coordination had been switched, I had contact with Sue. The plan review was arranged and a friend came along as an advocate as this was my first plan review, and then in walked Sue. When we walked out, all of the outstanding matters had been dealt with and approved and things were happening. Amazing! Home modifications that had been waiting for 2 years were actioned. A wheelchair which needed Assistive Technology approval was purchased.
All with professionalism, integrity and reliability. Home visits and face to face meetings ,all with wonderful communication skills .

Not long after my partner and I moved from interstate to a new town where we knew no one, I became part of the NDIS system. Having a support coordinator has allowed me to have the best possible care with the best health professionals I could hope for. All of this happened, and continues to happen, due to the extensive local knowledge of my support coordinator (Sussanne from Total Care Team). Apart from setting up a great care team for me, she was able to explain to us what everything around my plan actually means, and to steer me through the many systems and protocols around NDIS. A good support coordinator will be able to take the pressure off and make life easier for you (and your carer), but a great support coordinator will know what you need before you even have any idea. And that is what my support coordinator has provided for me, without a doubt. The difference she has made to my life, and to that of my partner, is hard to put into words. Because of this, and because she really cares, I have no hesitation in recommending Total Care Team to anyone who requires a support coordinator for their NDIS plan.
